Islam is not just a collection of religious rituals. It is also a way of life that encourages people to develop their character, take responsibility for their actions, and treat others with respect, fairness, and compassion.
1. THE BASIS OF ISLAM
Muslims believe in one God, who in Arabic is called Allah. Allah is the Arabic word for God and is also used by Arabic-speaking Christians.
God is described as the creator of the universe, merciful, just and close to humans. Islam teaches that humans can turn directly to God through prayer, repentance and sincerity.
2. THE PROPHETS

Muslims believe in, among other things:
Muhammad is considered the last prophet. Muslims do not see him as divine, but rather as a human and messenger.
Jesus in Islam

4. THE FIVE PILLARS OF ISLAM

To believe that there is no god other than God and that Muhammad is God's messenger.
Muslims pray five times a day. Prayer creates a regular time for reflection, gratitude, and contact with God.
The person who has sufficient financial resources contributes to those in need. Zakat should promote solidarity and social justice.
During Ramadan, adult and healthy Muslims abstain from food and drink from dawn to dusk. Fasting is also about self-discipline, patience, gratitude, and caring for people who live in difficult circumstances.
The person who has the physical and financial means undertakes the pilgrimage of Hajj at least once in their life. During the pilgrimage, people from all over the world meet on an equal footing.
5. VALUES IN ISLAM
Islam emphasizes that faith should be manifested in how a person treats others.
To be friendly, forgiving and considerate.
To stand up for what is right, even when it's difficult.
To speak the truth and be reliable.
To respect parents, neighbors, elderly people, children, and people with other beliefs.
To help people in need and share their resources.
To take responsibility for family, community, environment and one's own actions.
6. THE HUMAN BEING IN ISLAM
Islam teaches that every human being has value and personal responsibility.
People have different languages, cultures, and backgrounds, but these differences should not be used to determine who is more worthy.
What is emphasized is the human character, sincerity, and good deeds.
Humans have the ability to choose between right and wrong. Therefore, each individual is responsible for their own decisions.
Islam also teaches that people can make mistakes, seek forgiveness, and change.
7. FAMILY AND COMMUNITY
The family plays an important role in Islam. Relationships should be based on responsibility, respect, patience and care.
Muslim communities look different from each other, and cultural traditions are sometimes mixed with religion. Therefore, it is important to distinguish between Islamic principles and local cultural customs.

Islam teaches that women and men have the same human and spiritual value before God.
